Hi,

I am researching cameras for a big upgrade. I have an old Nikkor AF 70-210mm 1:4-5.6 lens and I was curious if the autofocus would work with the D780. I also saw in a review that the D780 could highlight unfocused areas using older manual focus lenses in liveview mode, and I was curious if anyone had experience with this.

Thanks!

That lens works well with the D780, even if the AF is a bit slow. If you want to shoot with ttl flash, a newer lens that gives the camera distance information would be a better choice.

As I don’t own one, I can’t help with how the focusing aids work in the D780.
