Hi,
I am new to photography so maybe the problem is me.
I have just bought a second hand D3100 it has 2 lenses with it the 18-55mm and a 70-300mm. The problem I am having is that the images are very slightly out of focus, irrespective of which lens I use. Any ideas or suggestions as to what I can try/do to remedy this would be greatly appreciated.

As the D3xxx bodies don't have any kind of AF fine tune, you will have to send it in to calibrate the AF system.

You can check if the lens mount is loose and tighten it if it wiggles. If you do this, you will need a JIS specification screwdriver as neither a Phillips nor a Pozidrive will fit the screw heads.
