Hi everyone!  Since I have already posted on a few topics I should probably introduce myself.

I'm Dave, a long-time photographer with limited skills.  Several years ago I dumped my heavy Canon DSLR kit, and dropped back to a sad little point-and-shoot camera until I could decide where I wanted to go.  No surprises I'm back in the DSLR realm with a smaller D5600 and Nikkor 18-300mm and 10-20mm lenses.  I just added a Sigma 105mm macro lens.

I mostly shoot landscape and travel photography.  I'm jumping into macro, thus the recent Sigma purchase.  I look forward to interacting with you all, and learning from this forum.

welcome Dave.  We'll soon have several mini challenges going, ''Your Best Photo of the Week'' is a popular one, come join us!  Despite how we look, we're really an easy to get along with bunch.

Hey Dave. I'm also new. How do you find the 18-300mm, is it good?

Hi there.  I do like the 18-300 lens.  It is a big lens, especially when attached to a smaller/lighter body like my D5600.  But I've gotten comfortable with it and have produced some good results so far.  Because I shoot landscapes and travel I also got the Nikon 10-20mm to get a wider angle, but for most part the 18-300 is what stays on my camera.  Since COVID I've not done much photography other than the occasional event or the macro photos I'm taking.  Looking forward to doing some serious travel photography later this year and in 2022.
