I recently purchased a D3500 to use as a second camera in a livestream scenario. I'm going into the computer with a Elgato Camlink 4K Hdmi adapter. When I plug the HDMI cord into the D3500, I'm able to see the video feed on my computer, but I lose the preview on camera monitor. I'd like to be able to adjust the camera (focus, zoom, shutter, ISO, etc) without having to see the computer screen. Is this possible? Is there something wrong with the camera?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Justin

Hello Justin

I’d welcome you to the forum – but I’m new here myself!

I have a D3300, which I don’t think is significantly different to your D3500

If I take the HDMI output from the camera to a cheapo video capture unit, and then into a phone or tablet via its USB output, I get the camera’s view simultaneously on both.

I couldn't find a setting on the camera that would blank out its display when appearing on phone or tablet.

My guess is that yours should behave in the same way.

Regard

Pete
