Hi.. I am looking for buy a nikon 70-200 AF f2.8 for my D7200 or an old 80-200 AF f2.8. My question is will this autofocus on my D7200 body. I have read that you have to set the aperture to its smallest aperture for this to work. But looking around on selling sites and info on this is a bit confusing.. can anyone help please.. Many thanks

The old AF 80-200/2.8 and AF 80-200/2.8D work fully on the D7200. To control the aperture from the body, the aperture ring has to be set to the smallest opening (largest numerical value). There is a lock button marked with orange that can be set so you don't inadvertently change the aperture setting.

The same goes for the AF-S 80-200/2.8D as this one has a focus motor like the modern lenses, but still has the old-style aperture control ring.
