Any way to change ISO/shutter using qDSLRDashboard and D850 while using silent shutter?

Greetings all - first post, and I know it's complicated but I'll give it a shot anyway.

I'm trying to create a time lapse using a motion control device to control the shutter on my D850 while also doing bracketed silent shooting.  That part I can do.  What I can't do is use an app like qDSLRDashboard to change the shutter speed / ISO while the images are being taken.  As soon as I plug in my phone and the D850 connects to the qDSLRDashboard app, the camera goes back to mechanical shutter mode.

The other option is to start up the qDSLRDashboard app in Live View before the timelapse starts.  That will allow silent shutter mode but it will *not* work with the motion control shutter signal because the camera is in "Host" mode, so all the shutter release and external shutter signals are ignored.

So each approach has one snag that prevents me from doing what I want to do.  Does anyone know of a way around this problem?

One suggestion was to figure out how to disable the "host" mode when using live view through qDSLRDashboard.  Supposedly this can be done with the Z series.  Can it be done with the D850?

Thanks in advance,
