I'm in need of a new tripod socket piece for my Z6, I have a piece of metal from a broken adapter stuck in there, it's pretty chewed up and I cant get it out. Does anyone know if I can buy this socket piece anywhere or is it a case of sending it to Nikon for repair? Thanks.

As a tools freak and problem solver, I could suggest this:

There are tools with a counter clockwise thread that will bite in a hole
of proser size — done on a press drill. The tool will find its way in the
broken screw and drive it out, possibly with the help of penetrating
lubrification.

Google "screw extractor" and you should find the required DIY hardware.
