I recently bought a Nikon 135mm f2.8 ai lens from keh and it was amazing in every way except for the focus ring was too stiff. Apparently this is a common problem with the grease in these older lenses drying up and making the ring harder to turn. Does anyone know if the older non ai lenses have a different grease used as I've have heard less reports of this happening to them? Or any good suggestions for a lens around this focal length? I sadly had to send the lens back but as much as I liked it I am not sure if buying and trying different copies until I get an acceptable one is the way I want to go about this
