I recently Bought a Nikon z5 in order to upgrade from my d5100. I upgraded because the Z5 had way better low light performance and way better auto focus. But ever since using it, the pictures I take suck. My primary lens is the sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 which is an amazing lens. Yes, I know this is a cropped sensor lens, but even in dx mode I still should be getting decent photos. But I'm not. I have tested this camera in a ton of situations. I have asked Nikon but they don't think there is anything wrong with this camera. I haven't been able to test it with any full frame lenses, yes I am planning on getting some, but I still should be getting good results with my lens. I have tried it with my old Nikon 40mm f/2.8 and still no luck. I have shot with eye af and single point af and still nothing. I have recalibrated the lens and still nothing. Attached is a photo I took of a girl using my d5100 with my cheap 40mm f/2.8, and the photo of the boy is one taken with my z5 with the sigma 18-35 f/1.8. If you look at the eyes you can see that the z5 is no where as close as sharp as the d5100, a 11 year old entry level camera vs a brand new professional camera. Can someone please help?

do not recall all setting but on Z6 with flash and FTZ 85mm F/1,88 or kit lens for Z6 when came out. so looks like your in poor lightroom or did not have lighting in right area or setting right. with out know setting or specs hard to tell what happen. also your using DX lens on full frame and will crop it and low megapixels too, with sigma 18-35m lenses crop lens

Not sure how I missed this post before, but...
The problem is that you are using DX lenses on an FX body. A higher end body can show the flaws in a lens.
