*trying* to take pictures of coins here. i've got the lighting just right, it looks good in the little screen, i click the button & it adds a ***yellow tint*** to it. for the life of me i can't understand why it would do this, why they included this ridiculous nonsense, or why anyone would ever want that. nor can i figure out how to make it stop. JUST TAKE THE PICTURE.

i've got it on the little 'flower' setting with the flash off. sometimes it works fine, sometimes it's a nightmare. nothing like taking 20 pictures just to get 1 i actually want.

i've been dicking around with all these other P, S, A, M modes and it's just not working. i hate this camera. a lot.

so..what's the magical setting to turn all of the automated garbage off? god forbid it just captures what i see in the preview screen prior to pressing the button

incredible...

What's your light source?

What is your white balance setting?

What is your shutter speed?

If your light source and white balance don't match, you will get strange colours.

With some light sources, you have to shoot at 1/60 or slower as the colour changes during each AC cycle.

Peter is correct.  Those were exactly the questions I was going to ask.

In addition, the "magical setting" you requested above that turns off the "automated garbage" is the M setting that will allow you Manual control over the aperture and shutter speed.
