Hello out there,

 Anyone know why there ISO changes in the same photo between jpg and nef? Example, file info reports an ISO of 640 with jpg, but 635 with nef in the same photo. Other variations hold up with other settings, e.g., 1000 jpg to 1008 nef.....this is the first time i've noticed the variations....just interested to know what produces that?

When it comes to exposure parameters, the industry standard
speaks in terms of the third and some time the half: a third of a
stop + or -, a third or half the speed, or double the ISO.

With digital gear, it is possible to record at values that make no
sense because the resulting calculations are imperceptible to our
eye or emulsions could not capture / render such nuances.

Since jpg is not a lossless conversion and the said values won't
make sense, all are approximated to the closest standard values.
