Hi all

I would like to get an L-Bracket for my D750 and D850 as it's about time I used the easier method for interchanging landscape composition from horizontal to vertical

It seems L-Brackets are mostly suited for Arca Swiss mounts whereas my two tripods are a 10 year old 190XPROB 496RC2 head and a new Befree XT PRO MH-496BH head

So I've been researching which L-Bracket to purchase and then how to convert if required

The Manfrotto website isn't too helpful though I believe I can purchase a plate converter that allows Arca Swiss plates to be used which costs approx £85

There is another company that offers a cheaper converter which is Haoge Quick Release QR Clamp Adapter for approx £30. As I have 2 tripods it would still be cheaper kitting out both rather than getting the Manfrotto one

However, I'm not sure whether the Haoge Quick Release will fit both tripods - they don't seem to have a website.

Has anyone here gone through a similar process where they own Manfrotto system but were able to purchase an L-Bracket Arca Swiss type system?

Manfrotto website doesn't even make it clear which of their expensive brackets fit which tripod heads

Any help would be much appreciated

Many thanks

Having a Manfrotto tripod with a 804RC2 head I was having the same issue: how to adapt my Arca Swiss based plates, fixed on all camerabodies and heavier lenses, to the Manfrotto system.

I ended up buying an Andoer CL-50LS quick release clamp as adapter. The adapter is fixed to the screw on the Manfrotto plate and came with an insert to fit both to 1/4 and 1/8 inch screws.

Obviously when adding adapters together you each time at an extra point of possible failure. For the use that I give this head it was ok for me, though.

I would go for something like a Neewer or Sirui clamp and attach it to an original Manfrotto plate, removing the cork or rubber on the plate first.
