I'm using a D850 + 60mm macro + ES-2 Film adapter and a light board. When scanning in slide mode with no slide in place the illumination is consistent within the entire frame. When I change to color negatives, I get a dark spot with a white halo and this results in the scans having a blue fringe. I can use the brightness control and it to almost the darkest setting which removes 99% of the fringe but then the dark areas all go black. I've attached examples of both modes.
