Hi everybody,

I would like to ask for your help with my Nikon D5600!

To put it shortly, I think the camera is not performing well in low light.

My lens is 18-55mm  f3.5 - 5.6 VR Kit lens and AF-S DX Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G.

When I take photos in an abundance of light - for example when there's bright sunshine or there is an electrical light near the subject - then the photos come out as excellent, but when I shoot in low light - for example when the sky is cloudy or there is no electrical light nearby - then the photos come out as evenly grey, bleak images with no colour nuances or no colours at all.

I apply three sample images. The 0584-1 is in bright sunshine, 0603 is in cloudy sky and 0278 has an electrical light in the scene.

I tried with both lenses, but the result has been the same. In low light, I would either open the aperture wide or set longer shutter speed, or both, but the results haven't been promising, the images still come out colourless.

Have you had the same issue with the camera? Have you solved it? What could be the problem?

Do you think the issue is the camera or the cameraman?

Thanks on beforehand!

The info we need to assist is your EXIF information - the aperture, shutter speed and ISO of each image.

That said, the images look about like I would expect if you were shooting in an auto mode without any exposure adjustments or post-processing...
