Hi, great to find this forum, and hoping you might be able to help.  I regularly use D500 plus Snapbridge to get instant access on iPhone to a small number of key pictures during a sports game. The set up works well, and this is what I currently use:

- I shoot RAW on the XQD card, basic JPG on the SD

- I select JPGs and send these to the phone one by one so battery level unaffected on camera and phone

- I shoot approx 1000 images in a game but only select around 50 max for Snapbridge

The question .....  When I take a picture the image shown on the display is the RAW file and cannot be sent to Snapbridge.  I have to spend quite a while finding the same image as JPG.  When I have 1000 images to go through this takes time. Can I select the playback view to only show me the JPGs?  Just leave the RAW files on the XQD.

This would improve the workflow massively.

Thanks!

David

I don’t think that there is a menudriven/software solution for what you are looking for.

The one (hardware) solution that I could imagine is to eject the XQD car before starting your selection for Snapbridge.

Thanks Jerry. I feared that might be the case.  I wonder if this might be resolved with future Firmware updates. It would really make the use of the SnapBridge app so much simpler.

That's a good workaround and I think I will try that. My only fear is that I only have a few minutes max before I am shooting again and I would hate to have my best shots taken when I only have a basic JPG being saved, when I forget to reinsert the XQD.  Happy New Year!

I don’t see this as a change in the camera firmware, but possibly as a new filter in Snapbridge, selecting specific picture formats (for Nikon to decide).

As reards fogetting to reinsert the card, you might only eject it half way which should be enough for it having no longer electric contacts. Its defintely not the most secure way of doing and should therefore only be done for short periods, also as it puts the door at risk of being damaged inadvertantly.
