Nikon D3300 didn't show anything with HDMI port

I have a Nikon D3300 and I upgraded original firmware to C1.02 L2.018 and when I connected it to the TV with mini HDMI to HDMI, it didn't work, but after I turned on camera, the HDMI icon on TV was detected although it didn't show anything. Before the upgrade it was fine. Do you think the problem is with the upgrade firmware or something else?

Have just joined this forum & saw your question.
I can tell you that I have the same firmware level on my D3300, but the HDMI port works fine. However, I only use it to drive an Amazon kindle fire rather than a TV
Don't 'think' your problem is related to that level of firmware.
