Hi from Sweden! I bought my D3300 about one year ago, upgraded from my Sony RX100. Now I have also got a few lenses and starting to get a grip on the technical side (however I have a looong way to go on the artistic side). Now I hope to get some tips on how to make things work the way I want. Winter is really gray here in Sweden so I hope to be more ready when spring arrives this year.

Hi there from a fellow Swede!

Make low light your friend. Your D3300 can do much more than you think, especially if you get a 35/1.8 DX and/or an AF-S 50/1.8 to explore the winter grays.

There is a thread running in the mini-challenges subforum. How about an insanely low light challenge? - Mini-Challenges, Member Contests, and Games - NikonForums.com

Where in Sweden do you live?

Welcome to the forums. Share some of your photos and if you're looking for pointers, use the "Critique" section. The best way to learn is to look around at what others do and ask questions. Don't forget to have fun, lots of fun

Thank you. Nice to see other swedish guys here. I have updated my camera bag and location in my profile. I live in (or, actually, a bit outside of) Karlshamn.

I have a AF-S 35/1.8, and so far I like it a lot better than the 18-55. But to go out in the cold rain right now...not gonna happen. Maybe I could find some photos from the autumn to post.

Should the flap of your cap be big enough,
you could do it in a shamelessly safe way! :)

Low light in the rain can produce some interesting captures.

Admittedly not an entry-level camera or a cheap lens, but still...

Are you sure?

I was astonished when I learned that Sweden was at war with
Austria (who wasn't? :P) and was responsible for the destruc-
tion of Falkenstein Burg in lower Austria… quite some time ago.
