Hello everyone,

I have Nikon D5600 camera and a kingston memory card but after few months of using it, i got this error 'Cannot access this memory card. Insert another card'.

Did everything what is said in nikon articles and in the internet, but nothing really worked.

Bought new memory card (also kingston) but after few pictures got the same error.

I went to the shop and gave camera back for warranty. After a moth they exchanged my camera for the new Nikon D5600 (they said that it would take a long time to fix the problem). But then the same error appeared on the new camera after ~30 pictures.

Then i bought a new memory card again - SanDisk (apparently sandisk is in the nikon approved memory card list and kingston is not). And now it seems that everything is working, have not had that error again ( it has been month and i am still testing it).

If i change to kingston memory card error is there. It seems like the problem is kingston memory cards...

Does someone else have the same problem with Nikon D5600?

I am a little bit confused if i should give this camera for warranty too.

Thanks in advance

Our cameras are a bit finicky when it comes to memory cards. I have never had any trouble with a Lexar card, had one defective SanDisk that crashed after about 700 frames and have no Kingston or Transcend cards left after buying and using about a dozen Lexar cards, 25-30 SanDisks, 5 Kingstons and 7 Transcends.

I only use Lexar and Sandisk cards and haven't had any trouble in any of my cameras of different brands.

I've use nothing but Sandisk cards in every camera I have (or had)...never had a failure.

Thank you for your answers. It really seems that the problem was kingston memory cards. With sandisk cards no more errors.

Make sure, Kitija, that ALL cards are reformatted in camera every now and then. :)

Here are a list of approved memory cards for Nikon D5600.

You can use a recovery software to extract files from your Kingston card, so that that doesn't get lost.

I know that this might be a little late. I have a D5600 and had the same problem with a card in the camera. I was able to read it in a card reader connected to a computer without any problems. I copied it to a hard drive to save the data. When I put it back into the camera I could not even format it because it was not recognized. I was able format it with the computer and use it with out any problems but when I put in in the camera, no luck. It went into the trash.

Did you try it with a card reader attached to a computer?

Sometimes, it is possible that you can’t access a micro-SD card as the SD card is not showing up. This means that if you did not have any photos on that memory card, you are in luck. However, if you did, then there are high chances that your photos might be gone forever. This error can ruin someone's vacation memories.
