Hello,

I recently bought second hand Nikon D5200 and after few days of use i get this error "  Nikon D5200 This battery cannot be used. Choose battery designed for use in this camera. " Of course, battery was 3rd party and i did as message says - ordered new original battery from local nikon reseller...same story. Tried battery from my Nikon D3300...same story.

Any suggestions what i can try?

So far i tried with other battery, charged both for 24h , Factory reset - Menu button + I button does not do anything.

Thanks in advance

Get some DeOxit Gold gel and put some on all the contacts on the third-party battery and use this to clean the contacts in the body. One of the contacts that is used to communicate with the chip in the battery is probably oxidised. If this doesn’t work, it is probably time to get it repaired professionally.
