Reality is what we take to be true.

What we take to be true is what we believe.

What we believe is based on our perceptions.

What we perceive depends on what we look for.

What we look for depends on what we think.

What we think depends on what we perceive.

What we perceive determines what we believe.

What we believe is what we take to be true.

What we take to be true is our reality.

               — David Bohm, theoretical physicists.

Here is a translation of the H C-B quote:

Place and people are made familiar to us by means of the camera in the hands of skillful operators, who, vying with each other in the excellence of their productions, avail themselves of every opportunity to visit interesting points, and to take care to lose no good chance to scour the country in search of new fields for photographic labor.

Timothy O'Sullivan -Photographer of the American Civil War and the American West.

I think myself that we have more machinery of government than is necessary, too many parasites living on the labor of the industrious. Government big enough to supply everything you need is big enough to take everything you have ... The course of history shows that as a government grows, liberty decreases. The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first.

Thomas Jefferson

Letter to William Ludlow, September 6, 1824.

For those who see and hear today's elected officials ordering obedience and choose to submit and yet overlook that these petty tyrants are ignoring those same dictates:

H. L. Mencken (1880-1956) wrote in the Sept. 19, 1926 edition of the Chicago Daily Tribune: “No one in this world, so far as I know — and I have searched the records for years, and employed agents to help me — has ever lost money by underestimating the intelligence of the great masses of the plain people. Nor has anyone ever lost public office thereby.
