Ah yes!  I've gathered the few that my trees produced this year due to the very little rain we've had this year, but there's enough for a few good sit downs with a pint or more of Stoudt.  Mine are Chinese Chestnuts, sweet.  I've had some Italian which have a smokey flavor, and I hope to live long enough to see my American Chestnut hybrid bear nuts.  I've loved these treats since I was a small child, one of the things I always looked forward to in October was when the nuts dropped!

Here, they are served often with "Sturm", the youngest Autumn wine

half juice and half wine.
