I just dropped my D600 with the 80-400mm attached. The lens is in bits and the camera seems ok apart from the focus screen is not showing full screen it is surrounded by a red box for a second when I press the shutter. any advice

I think you already know the answer. You need to have the camera completely checked out. If the lens in in pieces and the camera is acting weird, something is surely amiss inside.
