Just a quick hello to follow my new registration. I am an old school self taught nature / landscape photographer from Florida who has drifted away from one of the passions of my life.

Looking to get back into field work which in my home state of Florida basically means winter fieldwork. I studied from the masters like Ansel Adams, Galen Rowell, John Shaw and others. Went from film to digital however have not done much serious work in digital. That is why I am here....to learn and maybe share my knowledge. Recently upgraded to a better camera body and am just learning the many features. So I will be seeking your help from time to time. Thanks for reading my "quick hello".

Welcome to the forums!

Just curious, what was your previous body and what did you upgrade to?

If you can believe this I was still using a D40. Not for photography just snap shots and web sharing. Like I said I am just starting to get the itch again so I purchased a D7500. I was satisfied with my D40's 8X10 prints and just went along with it.I have some good Nikon glass and shopped for a body compatible with the lenses. I also just bought a new 18-140s Nikkor to fill in the blanks. I am an old school film, Fuji Velvia / Kodachrome [both 35mm & Mamiya 6X7] shooter. I have never even shot in the RAW format yet but looking to try it out. Thanks. The season will begin here soon. I have a lot to learn with modern digital tools.
