F5 Battery Question

Is there any reason that Ni-MH or Ni-Cd batteries cannot be used in the regular battery back of the F5?  The manual only mentions alkaline or lithium batteries.  The Only mention of Ni-MH is for the MN-30 battery pack.  Thanks for any help

There are 10 cells in the MN-30, the MS-30 only holds 8. This means that there is very little margin down to the shut-down voltage even with fully charged cells if you use the standard tray. It will work, but only for a few shots while the batteries are absolutely full. As soon as the voltage drops to the nominal 1.2V, the camera will shut down.

Thanks again.  I think I will stick with the F4.  I doubt that I can easily find a MN-30 and MH-30 charger.
