Right now I believe there is a $150 savings off the body only, and then there should be some deals when you also buy a lens. You'll have to check from retailer to retailer, but I think the deals are better now than they'll be on Boxing Day.

Go on google daily or any other search engine and when it looks like the price you want to pay then buy it. i do not think there is any such time as a good time. For beginners in the UK currys has a great deal at the moment.

For those in the UK, I think that the Photography Show at the NEC in March should offer up some good deals.
