I have the wonderful Nikon AF-S Nikkor 500mm f/5.6E PF ED VR lens. I have assigned the button on the lens for group focusing. Today that function stopped working. Now, when I press the button on the lens the camera beeps and the lens does not focus on anything. All of the other focus buttons on the camera work, but the button on the lens will not move the focusing at all - just beep. I did see the "Flicker" in the OVF but that was only once. I have taken off the lens and cleaned the contacts with a clean cloth but it is still doesn't work. Any suggestions?
