I remember the Monarch of my childhood being big and
orange-ish with a different shape. Are these the same?
You know, you're right. I don't know what species that visited me, but it certainly doesn't look like that. Still a beautiful ''bug'' though. I got a short glimpse of another yesterday, black with some vivid colors painted on the black.
Doing a quick wiki search, this guy looks like an Appalachain Tiger Swallow Tail, but there's no ''swallow tail'' on him. In short, I have no idea what he is other than an attractive butterfly. Nothing really matches him in wiki.
Yeah, they're all kind of ''monarchs'' in a way, put here to look as they do for our enjoyment!
