This thunderstorm rolled in quickly and was very intense.  The photo was taken from inside my hotel room.

Very dramatic scene but the low lights
recovery generated lots of noise.

… and don't tell me it is rain! :P :P :P

I purposely added a little bit of grain to the photo.  I think that may be what you're seeing as noise.  I appreciate your feedback.  Thanks.

It's a very dramatic image but there's an awful lot of uncorrected color noise.

The author says it's grain… but digital grain is introdu-
ced though luminance not chrominance generated.

I surely don't want to second guess the artist here. And, I'm certainly not well versed enough on all of the possible ways to introduce grain to an image. However, on the very few occasions when I've deliberately added grain to an image, that grain has always been monochromatic.

Ya live and learn I guess.

The "grain" I added to the photo is to simulate b&w grain.
