Forum members,

I have a AF-S 200-500 which I love.  Does anyone have any experience with adding a focus ring to it? There's so many variations, and I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

You don't need a focusing ring as the lens is AF.

Do you mean a zoom ring?
I made one for my 180~400 ƒ4… a good idea.

What do you mean when you say focus ring? A ring with a pointer? A geared ring for follow-focus? Something else entirely?

Back shortly after they came out, I was shooting a game and another photographer was shooting with the 200-500.  As I recall, it had both a zoom ring and a focus ring already...

My apologies. I'd like to have a geared ring or pointer to more finely adjust focus for moon photography.
