14-24mm f2.8 Zoom Ring Question

I haven't used my 14-24mm f2.8 zoom for a long while - I've been shooting with a pair of fixed lenses, a 20mm and a 24mm; and when I went back to the zoom - it had some resistance approaching its stop when zooming. I hadn't remembered that being there so my question is, does yours have some resistance to keep the zoom ring from moving?
