A friend recently gave me a Visitor 70-210mm Series 1 lens, I have a Nikon D800, I have tried searching online to find out any info is there is a Teleconverter or a Mount that I can purchase that would make it possible to use this lens with my camera but I can't find much useful information. Does any one know if there is a Teleconverter or a Mount that would work with this lens on my camera? Many thanks!

What mount is the Vivitar? Neither the Kirons nor the later Tokina or Komine-made Vivitars have exchangeable mounts. If it is F-mount, beware if there is only one set of numbers on the aperture ring as the early Kirons aren't Ai compatible and can damage your camera.

The problem with adapting other mounts to F-mount is that Nikon have the longest register distance of them all. This makes for complicated TC solutions that would be too costly to make a profit on, lost infinity focus or an image-degrading lens in the adapter ring.
