Hello all,

I’m getting back into photography after a substantial layoff and I’m feeling like Rip Van Winkle!  I currently have a D200 and after some research I decided to remain with the DX format and have a D500 arriving Monday.  Picking up an 18-300 VR as well to replace the D200’s 18-70, so at least for the moment, that lens and my 50mm f1.4 should have me good to go until my wallet recovers.

Since I got my D200 (14 years ago) I’ve been using the various updated versions of Capture NX2 for processing but looking to head over to Lightroom and pay my $10 per month.  Since I am generally looking to only really optimize the pictures that I have taken I’m assuming the full Adobe Photoshop is going to be overkill for me (“intermediate enthusiast”).

Looking forward to getting back into things!  Any advice to a returning enthusiast is welcome!

That's what, generally, post-production is for. :P

If you are like many us, you won't stay an
"intermediate enthusiast" very long! :)
