The author writes at length about protests and protestors and only employs the word violence once and not in the context of decrying it. Riots are mentioned only briefly in reference to Rodney King in 1993. The recent looting and burning of many black owned businesses is never addressed nor are the killings that occurred during this violence. There even seems to be tacit approval of what has been occurring in the statement "And what is a riot if not the last act of helpless desperation." SMH

Yes, you are very perceptive but maybe…

His point is more to be taken at a personal level than as a
justification/non justification of use of violence.

Certainly not an easy subject but should never be a taboo.
