Hi,

I've just bitten the DSLR bullet and stepped up to a D7100 with a DX AF-S 35mm 1.8G prime lens (bought seperately). The body has very low shutter count and both appear to be in 'like new' condition. The only problem is that the lens focuses perfectly through the optical viewfinder, but refuses to focus with the live view screen on.

My son has a D3400 with three lenses, so in an effort to figure out where the problem lay, we did a lens swap.

Unfortunately, my lens works perfectly on my sons camera, and his lenses work perfectly on mine (both in optical and live view mode), so I'm none the wiser.
Updated the firmware and lens data tonight, but still got the same issue.

If anyone has any experience of the same problem and knows a fix I'd be really grateful. I can send the lens back and get a refund worst case, but would prefer to avoid the faff if possible.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.
