Hi!
My five days old Coolpix P950 won't charge.
Today the camera shut down with a "battery exhausted" message. Connecting the camera with the usb-cable and charger delivered together with the camera it either wont light up the LED at all or the LED goes into fast flashing and go off after a short while. Exactly the same happen when connected with the USB-cable connected to a Apple MacBook Pro.
I'ts hard to beleive that the five days old battery is faulty.
Any hints?
Someone else experienced this problem?
Kind Regards,
Rickie Kåveby

One factor that can give these indications is oxides on the battry contacts, either on the battery or in the camera. If I were you, I would try removing the battery and cleaning the contacts with ISO-propanol or DeOxit.

Thanks for your reply Peter!
I wont do that on a brand new camera. I've ordered two spare batteries and an external charger. It that works I'm happy with that. See no need to charge inside camera.
If that doesn't work I guess I have to send it back för guarrantee fix/replacement.
Kind Regards,
Rickie
