I think the main issue is they don't exactly stand out from their backgrounds.  In the last photo, one deer's face is covered by foliage.

Thank you K-9 for your reply im finding there not the easiest animals to photograph in there environment as they blend well into there surroundings at this park.

i was gutted at the last shot wish both deer had been in view.

You could probably crop the covered deer out of that last shot and have a nice image of the one...

 thats exactly what i ended up doing but quality was reduced quite a lot :-(

You had some luck, to make those shots. Your photos looks like blured. Why? Did you make them without stabilization?

1st one I have difficulty finding your focus point as they seem to be a bit soft. 2nd one good overall. On the 3rd I would crop right at the point the hidden deer enters personally.
