I am new to the camera world. Bought a D5600 a couple of weeks ago so trying to find my feet. My problem right now is that I can’t get the LCD screen to stay on. When I press the menu button the screen comes on but quickly goes off unless I scroll through the menus. After taking a photo it displays it for about 3 seconds and then goes off again. Is there a setting for the screen display somewhere or is my screen faulty?
Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.
Dayle

The following is valid for the D5100
Menu > Custom Settings Menu (Pencil Icon) > Auto Off Timers.
(If there are slight differences with your model, they will be explained in the user manual)

You should still limit the time the screen stays on — if I remember well,
I set mine at 10s — because it drains the battery significantly faster.

The question, Mike, is directed to…?
The OP, if his answer was yes i was going to explain the downside to that in handheld scenarios.
