I just ordered a reconditioned p900 to be delivered in three days.  I did a fair amount of online research before spending my money.  It will replace a rebel t7i which, even with a long lens, just won't zoom enough on elusive birds.  I think I will like the p900's smaller physical size as well.

 

I ordered a reconditioned camera thinking that most cameras are lightly used and over-built.  I can't wait for delivery.

Welcome. I'm curious to know if you considered the new P950 as you evaluated your options. It appears to be quite an improvement from the P900 but undoubtedly at a higher cost than a reconditioned P900.
