Hello!

I am new to this forum.

I am not new to Nikon. I am a hobbyist and currently use a D800. I have recently changed to Windows 10.

I have Photoshop Elements 2020. I have used Nikon NX2  and have recently installed Nikon View NX-i and Capture NXD

I shoot RAW but not all the time.  If I am editing a jpg in NX-i it will not save the edited image or save the 'original' as it did it NX2.

Why would I want to 'convert' a jpg to a jpg? I must be missing something. I find the Nikon 'help' in this area to be confusing.

Are there any NX-i users out there?

The reason for not just saving edits in jpg is that the .jpg format is a lossy one and needs to recompress for every save. You don't have to save lots of times before posterization and other jpg artefacts start to appear.

It is strange that they call a simple export command file conversion, but that's not the only strange thing in the UI.

Welcome to the forums. From what I've seen when it comes to Nikon software you will be better off using PSE 2020

Thank you for your comments. I actually have Photoshop Elements 2020 but was looking for something for a quick look / edit ( shadows, highlights, saturation, sharpen, etc ) of just jpgs and not run everything through Photoshop.
