Recently bought a lens, f type non a/f.
supposed to be new.

Curious now of origin as there is a warranty in box from Australia, is this normal in U.K.

I have read of refurbished lenses.

Any way of telling?

thanks, will try to add pic’.EC132CDA-C28F-477F-A59C-D466C01E0FFB.jpeg

Hello,

I would not suspect it to be a refurbished lens (i.e. one that was used before and then maintained and cleaned to be as new), possibly however a grey market lens (i.e. a normal new lens, but aimed at a different geographic market).

I think that the serial number could tell, but don’t have the list to check/match. Others might help here.

If it is a « grey market lens » Nikon service might not accept to fix it (if there should be an issue) in the UK (especially regarding free service during warranty). But you will want to check this with your local Nikon dealer.

you need to find out if that is gray market lens or not then find out if refurbished one too. if fall under gray market then have to send to region that lens for. and hope someone will fix it. if it is refurbished lens only get like 90 days warranty

The box is for an AF lens with the D-chip. A very good AF lens for bodies with focus motor.

Check the import status for your own peace of mind. There is very little to go wrong with that lens, so the only real problem is resale value and whether you paid UK price for a side import that should be cheaper.
