Can anyone advise if any of the WiFi SD cards are compatible w/ this camera?  I've googled my eyes out, and can't find anything definitive.

Wi-fi SD cards are usually generic, so they'll let you transfer files to or from any camera.

If you're looking to take control of the camera remotely, I don't think that's supported with the D5000.

As long as the type of card (SD, SDHC, etc) is compatible with the camera, allowing the camera to write images to the card, that should be all you need.  The card itself communicates over WiFi to another devices when transferring images to that device.  Somewhere out here - don't even remember what category it was in but I know it was years ago, I posted some information on an EyeFi card that I tried out for getting images to a pad and then to the Internet during high school sports activities that I was covering.  At that time it was pretty slow and I chose not to use it.
