Ordered a used Nikon 85 f 1.8 D. Want to pair it up with my other two lenses; 55 f 2.8 micro and a new 35 f 2. Will be using them on my FM2N.

What version is the 35/2?

I think you will find that the light action and 125° throw makes the AF 85/1.8 D a bit difficult to focus manually, especially compared to how easy the 55 is to use on the FM2N.

My trio on the FE2 usually was an AI'd 35/2 O-Nikkor, a 55/3.5 or a 50/1.2 Ais if I needed the speed and an Ai 105/2.5.

Fallout666, there have been 7 models of the 35/2 over the years with 8 or 6 elements, 120-195° focus throw and optical performance ranging from excellent to no better than an 80-s zoom lens.
