Hello,

Purchased pair of D200 cameras at auction.  They have this cable attached to them..."Soundlink SEC-7505 High Grade Security Multi-Core Cable".

I have searched but could not find any info on what it is/does?

How do I go about removing cables?

Any info much appreciated.

Thanks

Pics are attached

Perhaps a visit to Nikon's US site (Nikon | Shop & Explore Cameras, Lenses, and Accessories)  to grab a D200 manual would help by determining what port it is plugged into on the body.

The strange thing is that there is no port in front of the USB on a D200. These bodies have been modified for some special usage. As far as I can tell, it is not any kind of Nikon accessory port.

Have a look at page 12 of the PDF document (D200 user manual)

https://cdn-10.nikon..._en_noprint.pdf

As Peter said, there is no plug foreseen by Nikon here, but probably it offered space to drill a hole to have a cable come out and provide for some special use connectivity.

As it is stated to be a security cable it MAY be that it is just a loop between 2 or more of the pins to start an external alarm whenever the plug is removed from a socket or when the cable is cut. (But that’s just a guess, based on information available)
