since getting this lens and mainly be on Z6 any tips on how to use macro part of lens. last macro lens i had was tamron 70-300mm and did not work good right at all. so this will be my new portraits and macro lens. i know comes with hood adapter if want to use crop body like my D7200 too. this will be last lens in collection i need for all mm range to have. once get this lens only have 1 lens to replace and DX 12-24mm since i only want all Full frame lens now. if people have tips on how to use macro for portraits or macro shot would like tips thanks and also how good is this lens. to me nikon way over priced

we should compare the them to both Z6 to Z50 you be about 150mm range. if Z50 is same as nikon 1.5 crop factor

The Micro-Nikkor 105/2.8 AF-D is sharp, I tested against the new AF-S Micro-Nikkor 105/2.8- the latter was not as good. The online comparisons of the two lenses seem to agree with the test I did. A friend at work bought the new one for her D850, was disappointed in the performance. She was right, new Nikkor the lens is not as good as it should be. The AF-D lens was designed in the age of film, where you could not get rid of chromatic aberration so easily. The new lens- the marketing department must have designed it.

I've not used the Sigma 105. Would be interesting to compare with the Nikkor AF-D version.
