Hi,

I've just purchased secondhand an FT1 adapter and a Nikon Nikkor 70-300mm ED AF 4-5.6D lens to use on my Nikon V1 body.  I thought from my research that autofocus should work on this combination, but when I try to switch from manual (which it automatically goes to) to AF-S I get an error message saying AF-S is not available with either the lens or the current conditions.  I haven't had a chance to try it out in really good lighting, but did try it in daylight this morning and still got the error message.

Should autofocus work on this combination, or did I need the lens with AF-S in the title instead?

TIA!

You need AF-S as the FT1 doesn't have a focus motor.
