Hi!

Sometimes, when I am playing with the camera, the camera appears to shoot by itself. When the Shooting Mode is set to Auto, this is some of what is displayed in the rear LCD Monitor:

(1) “Auto w/ a Camera” in the upper left corner

(2) “S” I the upper right corner

(3) “AF-A” in the middle

(4) “ISO-Auto / Auto [musical note]” to the right

(5)”WB Auto” in the lower center

And, at the bottom:

(6) “Long exp. NR”

(7) “High ISO NR”

(8) “Assign FUNC. button”

(9) “Assign AE-L/AF-L button”

What's happening?

Dr. T

They sound like options within the Menu screens which allow you to set various values.  Perhaps you want to do a reset to factory default settings to clear anything you may have set accidentally.
