Ok some of them were lazy, but the idea was pretty cool. Would make a great christmas cards, birthday invites, etc...
Any other off the wall ideas?
I laughed pretty dang hard the first time I saw those childhood photo recreations. Honestly, I'd love to give it a shot with some old photos.
As far as other ideas, I've got a so many things I'd like to try--I don't know when I'll have time to do it all.
The big project that will take some deep thought and serious planning is trying to portray dreams via photography. Dreams are so surreal and off the wall--I'd love to try to re-create some of the oddest dreams I've had. (Visualize a girl in a purple jogging suit tumbling through a tornado coming toward you, for example.) For a long time, just for kicks I kept a dream journal. Anytime I woke up during the middle of night from a dream, I'd grab my journal and write it down. My goodness, it's hilarious to read back through. But I'd really love to illustrate some of those dreams...perhaps in the style of Brooke Shaden.
I want to try some "ghost" photography in an old cemetery--not trying to catch real ghosts on film, mind you (though that would be cool). I just want to get some people in old-fashioned costumes and use photoshop to sort of fade them into the image.
I'd also like to try some forced perspective shots like these:
And I'd love to try these, although my "baby" is a bit too old now:

Wonder if someone would let me borrow a baby...
The ghosting one you could pull off using a long exposure shot. That sounds like a great idea. I was trying to do something similar at YogoBar recently (still need more work on it though).
Great ideas on the forced perspective just to make shooting interesting. Most of the work would be working out what you want to shoot and setting it up.
The kids one is great too. I saw something similar ages ago for handicaped kids. I thought it was a fantastic idea and have since seen the ones for kids. Would definitely love to do those sorts of shots for sure.
Great ideas!
I really enjoy looking at forced perspective shots. I think I will give that a try soon. Also high speed photog sparks my interest. Now that I have the equipment to do it I will be soon.

Someone who has taken "perspective" photography and made it their own...

Just had to bring back this thread after I stumbled across this wonderful, creative work:
Go Where Raisins Swell Into Grapes, And Lemons Light The Sky : Krulwich Wonders... : NPR
Really interesting ideas with the figures. I have some 1/6 scale miniatures and they are very hard to photograph, and those look to be much smaller. I wonder what the set up was.
I was wondering the same thing!!! I went to their website, and while it is gorgeous (and annoyingly unintuitive), they are not incredibly forthcoming with their techniques. I don't blame them, of course.
