The first good news is I don't have to send in my D7200 for warranty work. While I was getting it ready for shipment it miraculously fixed itself lol. The issue with it was the time and date needed resetting each time I replaced the battery. I thought about sending it back to Adorama for a replacement but it only had 24 shutter actuations so I just kept it. Other than that there has been no other issues that I have noticed yet.

The second good news is I finally ordered a refurbished D500, a 32GB XQD, a 32 GB SDHC and a 3rd party battery grip from B&H Photo to replace my D750 that drowned earlier this spring.

Now the bad news. I ordered the D500 on the 2nd to be shipped via USPS 2 day express shipping. As of today I haven't received either of the 2 packages. USPS tracking showed the expected delivery dates to be on the 4th and the 7th and the last tracking update was on the 3rd and 4th when they arrived at Anchorage's distribution center, then nothing after that. I have opened at service request with USPS on the 9th and have been watching the tracking since then.

After calling USPS and inquiring about my packages earlier today, I just received an email saying my packages were scanned and ready for pickup on the 9th and 10th. That's some good news at least. More bad news, I can't take it until the interim Postmaster flies in to open our Post office for a couple days on Friday, weather permitting as they say in rural AK.

I was hoping they'd get in before the volleyball games last weekend but it wasn't supposed to be I guess. One good thing about this is B&H Photo refunded me the cost of the 2 Day Express shipping.

Well, this is getting pretty annoying to say the least. The Interim Postmaster hasn't flown over to open the Post Office yet. She said she'd come over last Friday but postponed it to Monday, then to today and now to Sunday. At least I have my D7200 but would've liked to have had the D500 when I went for a walk the other day.
Her's a few from my walk around the bone yards.

It's here, finally!! More bad news though. It's viewfinder was cracked.  Some bad luck I've been having with this order. I've requested an RMA from B&HPhoto for a replacement and asked them to send it to a relative that lives in a town that has an open post office so he could send it out to me via an airline when he gets it. Hopefully the replacement will be fine when it arrives this time.

I can't see any crack in the viewfinder. What I can see is a closed viewfinder. Just open the shutter.

I’m with Bengan. Use the small lever to the let of the viewfinder.
With the D500 come a few new features ;)

OMG guys! Thank you!! I'm feeling a bit like a fool right now. A very happy fool lol. If I lived near you two I'd buy you each a drink or two. You guys saved me the embarrassment of sending back a perfectly working (so far) D500. I just started reading  the pdf book Mastering the Nikon D500 and unless I missed it, it didn't say anything about viewfinder shutter. Now I need to finish up reading the book to see what other surprises/features that I don't know about. Thanks again.
