Hi,

I am attempting to set up AEB on my Nikon Z7 so that I can create HDR panoramas. Currently, I am indoors in my house as I experiment with the camera.

Here are my settings:

ISO: 64

Aperture: f11

Shutter speed: 10"

Release mode: Self-Timer 2 seconds

Auto bracketing set: AE Bracketing

Number of shots: 3F

Increment: 2.0

When I press the shutter, two seconds go by as expected (due to the 2 second timer) before I first hear the shutter. However, the time it takes to capture the next image is about 10 seconds, then the time it takes to capture the third and final image is about 20 seconds, making the total time to capture all three shots almost 30 seconds!

Besides the annoyance of waiting so long, I am very worried that movement/lighting in the scene will change between shots. This will create problems when I merge the three shots into one HDR image, which I will then stitch with all the other merged HDR images to create the final HDR panorama.

30 seconds to capture three exposure bracketed images does not seem right. Surely this cannot be?

Am I reading correctly that your exposure is ten seconds?  If so, then 30 seconds would be the minimum amount of time.

Hi, yes, thanks.  I realized this about twenty minutes after I submitted the thread. I tried to cancel the thread, but the post was pending moderator approval (I am guessing as a spam prevention tactic). I waited a while for it to be approved so that I could delete it right away but eventually it grew so late I just went to bed.

Anyway, what an obvious explanation for my issue I overlooked. I don't know why I did not realize this as I typed "shutter speed: 10"" in my original post!
