Hello! I recently disassembled my old Nikkor 35mm 1.8g lens for some dust cleaning and to also clean the lens elements. When I assembled it back together and took some test shots I noticed that the lens was noticeably less sharp and clear than before. I used a new and clean microfiber cloth to ensure that no dirt or grease was going to get onto the lens elements. does anybody know what might have caused this and what I could do to make the problem better? The lens did not behave like this before I took it apart and cleaned it, seems like I've done something wrong. Any help is appreciated!

Did you remember to scribe some alignment marks before you took things apart to get everything together in exactly the same positions on reassembly? All the 8 elements in their 6 groups need to be precisely positioned to get the results that lens can give.
